13 – Turning Hearts in the End Time – 6/22 – 6/28

This week’s lesson – Turning Hearts in the End Time

“ ‘Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; lest I come and smite the earth with a curse’ ” (Mal. 4:56, NKJV).

During Elijah’s time, there was rampant idolatry in Israel, which led to violence and division within families. Both Elijah and John came at the right time to turn people’s hearts to God. The prophets aimed to divert the attention of the people away from the causes of their differences and bring the people to spiritual unity. As John and Elijah restored peace to families of their times, so we have the responsibility to point people to Jesus before His second coming.  From this week’s lesson – Friday.

Read about it, think about it, and let’s discuss this Sabbath.

12 – What Have They Seen in Your House? – 6/15 – 6/21

This week’s lesson – What Have They Seen in Your House?

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Pet. 2:9, NKJV).

The family is the first place we learn about who God is, our relationship to Him, and what He asks of us. Home is the place from which our lights shine. Unfortunately, because home is where we let down our guard, it can also be the place where we are ugliest to each other. Strained or broken family relationships can destroy the peaceful home God meant to be our spiritual foundation and a welcoming beacon to His lost children. So how do we create a family that mirrors the peace and love of God?  From this week’s lesson – Friday.

11 – Families of Faith – 6/8 – 6/14

This week’s lesson – Families of Faith

“Therefore . . . , let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Heb. 12:12, NKJV).

History shows that bad choices have trickled down to our offspring. Because of the many great biblical and personal examples we can look to, we have the power to break generational curses by simply changing the path we take. We all have some type of family dynamic that has shaped who we are. As we weather the storms of family issues and strive to grow together in faith, we need to remember there is a God who desires to save us and wants us to replicate the family in heaven so that we become examples to the world of how to be families that love God.  From this week’s lesson – Friday.

10 – Little Times of Trouble – 6/1 – 6/7

This week’s lesson – Little Times of Trouble

“ ‘Be angry, and do not sin’: do not let the sun go down on your wrath” (Eph. 4:26, NKJV).

As we look at the verses that we have studied this week, it is clear that God considered our humanity and understood that anger and conflict would be a part of it. Though conflict will come, He wants us to use conflict as a catalyst to build character. Though we are all unique, we can be united in overcoming conflict and have oneness in the purpose of treating each other kindly.  From this week’s lesson – Friday.

Read about it, think about it, and let’s discuss this Sabbath.
